The balance of worlds

Of metropolises and meadows
There are days when my heart beats faster in the big cities of the world: London, Paris, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai. Places full of energy, encounters and inspiration. A lunch in Paris that unleashes more ideas than a month in the office. A walk through Tokyo, where tradition and the future merge in a confined space. Meetings in skyscrapers that give you the feeling that anything is possible.
And then there are the other days: weekends in the countryside. Roaming through the fields in the morning, the children running ahead, the bees buzzing, the smell of fresh bread from the oven filling the house. No dress code, no agenda. Just pure nature, peace and quiet, and a deep breath.
For me, the two complement each other. Cities give me speed, ideas, a sense of progress. Nature gives me clarity, strength and a home. I feel this particularly strongly in the mountains. How peaceful the mountains are. The clear air in the mountains, green meadows underfoot and the wide sky. Taking a moment to pause amid all the hustle and bustle and consciously enjoying the beauty of nature. That is the greatest luxury.
